Hey guys~

So I've been a bad artist as of late. Up until about two weeks ago I hadn't  really drawn anything, or even really cared.

Have you guys gone through something similar?

I let life get in the way sometimes. I get so caught up in real world things that I forget how much I love to draw and that's no good! A friend gave me a peptalk the other day. He said "When people say 'Ashe's a barista' or 'Ashe works at Starbucks' I tell them 'No, she's an artist. That might be what she is doing now, but really she is an artist.'" and I felt like I needed to share that with you guys. No matter what you are doing in your lives, deep down, at the core of who you are, you are an artist and it's pretty damn magical that we can all come together on a website like this and share in that together.

So friends, and art, I'm sorry I've neglected you. To all my new watchers who came in my absence, and to all my old pals on here, seriously thank you guys. You really encourage me more than you know with every "fave", "watch", and comment. you guys are the best. xoxoxo

Also, I am opening commissions for real this time because it will keep me accountable with art, and because I need new clothes. Really badly haha! All my jeans have holes in them! And not the good spooky kind either!!

HEY GUYS!

 

Okay, so just updating this to let everyone know that commissions will be open this weekend! (gee could you tell from the journal title??) I won't be doing wardrobe commissions anymore (sorry guys...) because they frankly just take waaaay too long for how much I charge for them. I might consider them but it's going to be for considerably more. Also this time around I'm going to be open for cash commissions because I'm super broke and it would be nice to have some money other than my rent money.

 

So yeah! Be on the lookout! I'll be doing customs and portraits, full bodies, headshots, and traditional sketches. I will be opening 5 slots!

OH HAI DER MY WITTLE BATTIES!

 

SO, let's all take a moment to celebrate because finally after an embarrassingly long amount of time, I AM DONE WITH COMMISSIONS! It feels nice to do that right before the new year!

 

I've been busy at work making delicious coffees and dealing with people who seem to be demonically possessed thanks to the stress of holiday shopping. Or something. I'm giving them that excuse right now, but really let's face it people are like that a lot. Especially when you work in the service industry. At least I love my coworkers!! On a side note, I just had really weird deja vu of writing this entry. Anywaaaay, back to that! So that's why I've been a wee bit unresponsive as of late when it comes to thanking for watches and faves. I honestly do appreciate it! You guys are the absolute best and it makes my day every time you support me like that! Thanks everyone!! <3 <3

 

Back to the being done with commissions thing, I will be opening them again soon! I'm going to limit the slots though just to make everything a little more manageable for me. (I tend to get overwhelmed with long lists...) I'm planning on doing that sometime in the next two weeks. My prices are going to be adjusted based on how much time I put into certain things, so that will change and I'm considering doing cash only. (Or at least cash being slightly cheaper than points) because... well... I'm broke and it would help to have some real money ha.

 

Do you guys celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, or Kwanza in your families? If you do, do you have any traditions??

 

In my family we celebrate Christmas and we open gifts on Christmas eve and then have stockings in the morning! It's so fun! It gives you the whole night to read new books, wear new p.j.s and play with new things, and then the next day you can wear a new outfit and spend time with the rest of the family! Also, Aric (the husband man) and I give gifts to each other from Sandy Claws the magical Christmas cat instead of from Santa. Ha!

 

What about you guys? If you are in school how were finals/midterms? Are you on break already?
